Fitted with a 14C-585 Medium nib. This is the first model M400 that was named'Souverän' and was the predecessor of the M400'Old Style'.

It shows the old Pelikan logo with 2 chicks painted on the cap. Therefore the pen was made between 1997 when the M400 Souverän was introduced and 2003 when the logo with 1 chick was introduced.
