Boxed and Serviced Mabie Todd Swan 3161 Extra-Fine Flexible Nib Fountain Pen

  

For sale we have a lovely Mabie Todd Swan Self Filler, in a nice smart black colour from the late 40s/50s complete with its original box. This model is the usual high quality you would expect from Mabie Todd Swan and has aged very well over the years, with the imprints still being nice and readable, and the gold trim being largely unbrassed. The nib is quite unusual being an extremely fine semi-flex, the incredibly fine unflexed line really allows you to show off the line variation this pen has to offer. As you would expect with a nib this fine it is on the dry side, but still quite pleasant to write with.

I have serviced the pen, fitting it with a new ink sac and flushing it clean of old dried ink. All in all a lovely example of a Swan self filler with an interesting flexible nib.
