Montblanc 149 Fountain Pen Semi Flex 14K 585 Nib with Leather Pouch + Box Papers

  

A very nice used Montblanc 149 Diplomat fountain pen. It does not have visible scratches, dents, or cracks.

Usual micro scratches visible under the 20x loupe and are due to the normal careful and infrequent use. The nib is 14k and unusually springy for MB149 that is not "calligraphy model".

It could be classified as modern semi-flex (far stiffer than the true vintage flex nib, but allows for good line variation). The nib has also unusually inaccurate platinum mask for MB. Please see photos, but keep in mind that they are magnified and it is not really visible without magnification.

I do not know if this nib was adjusted by the nibsmith, but it is a fun and pleasure to write with. The piston was treated with silicone recently and its function is very easy and smooth.
