Parker 51 time capsule near-mint pen, pencil, inner and outer boxes

  

Offered for sale is a Parker 51 set in Cedar Blue from the fourth quarter of 1948. This pen and pencil set is in NEAR MINT condition with the inner faux leather box, outer cardboard box, original price stickers (moved by the owner from the pen to the box) and virtually no wear.

There is damage to the original elastic strap that holds the pen and pencil in place. The pen shows only a bit of surface wear.

No dings, dents, brassing, engraved names, flea bites, removed engravings, scratches or gouges. The pencil is similarly near mint. Please note that the pencil is slightly darker than the pen, as seen in the photos. This is common as Parker used celluloid for the pencils and Lucite for the pens, and they age differently. The pen has a smooth fine nib and writes with a wet line.

The pen has been restored with a new diaphragm and works perfectly. Here is a chance to own a virtual time capsule from 80 years ago. The plush velvet in the box is still plush. The converging lines pattern on the caps is clear. A great pen set, offered at no reserve.
