ANOTHER PART OF MY FAMILY ESTATE THAT EXPANDS OVER 100+ YEARS. RECEIVED SOME INFORMATION FROM THE INDIANA HISTORICAL SOCIETY. WHAT THEY FOUND WAS AN 1889 AD.Thank you for contacting the Indiana Historical Society about your Minerva pen nib. Minerva seems to have been a very short-lived company (or else its name was changed).
The only thing I was able to find is an advertisement in the United States Official Postal Guide for 1889 (attached). I then looked in the Indianapolis city directories for 1888, 1889, and 1890 to try and find an address or names associated. But the company was listed in none of them.Neither does it seem to have appeared in the newspaper at any time. I'm sorry I couldn't find more, but as I said, it seems to have been a short-lived name. RARE NEW SEALED ANTIQUE MINERVA STEEL PEN WORKS BOX - INDIANAPOLIS, IN. SOUND LIKE THERE IS MORE THAN 1 IN THE BOX, BUT THE BOX DOES NOT STATE HOW MANY. BOX SIZE IS 2 1/4" X 1 1/2" X 3/4.
